Responsibilities:
Manage Product Engineering China resources allocation according to projects needs and grants that appropriate level of support is provided from HQ to local team to meet Quality Gates and ESoP on time Responsible to define team evolution strategy in terms of number of resources and competence growth according to company strategy business plan Manage outsourcing of activities and build working network with local Engineering Companies to fill in PE team gaps at short notice when required by project needs Support JV for technical assessments during projects' organization and then execution (i.e. calibration and reliability plan, arrange dedicated training for competence development) Technical Expert for engine (performance feasibility at bench, turbo-matching, VAVE ideas and related validation plan), after-treatment systems (application confirmation) and e-PWT (support business acquisition and application development) Manage local Tier 1 suppliers related to both ICE and ePWT for entire localization path according to ESoP Responsible for the implementation in Powertrain Product Engineering China best practices i.e. Quality Gate (QGx) reports, Application Sign-off reports, Project Reviews, Management Reviews (MRx) and Group Development Process Liaison with HQ to secure the proper support to local engineering team
Requirements:
Master-degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace or Electronic 15+ years' experience in automotive acquired in major OEM, Tier1 or Engineering Company mainly in engine/ATS development or engine control system development (software or hardware) Experience in engine development, including design, performance feasibility, calibration and reliability Basic knowledge about H2 ICE and e-PWT for heavy duty application Basic knowledge on virtual validation Relevant Project Management Skills and technical ability to support, guide and review engineering activities (technical requirements, specifications generation and management, SW&HW test planning, validation programs, customer management) Experience in Suppliers' Management in terms of technical & costs Strong Communication skills, capacity to work under pressure and to organize priority Willing to take challenge as opportunity and capability to work for discontinuity Excellent English skills Availability for business trip Can work under pressure
